Department of Anatomy & Histology is existing since the inception of this college. This Department is involved in teaching, research & extension activities in basic subjects of veterinary science which is pre-requisite for other disciplines / subjects. The post-graduate study was started from the year 1963 and Ph.D. by research in year 1986.

This Department places on record the meritorious services of Professors Dr. K. R. Alur (1959 to 21.02.1961), Dr. M. H. Nagamia (22.02.1961 to 15.07.1971), Dr. P. V. Naik (16.07.1971 to 31.03.1982), Dr. S. S. Mehendale (01.04.1982 to 30.11.1986), Dr. M. J. Mahajan (01.12.1986 to 31.12.1996), Dr. A. M. Pachpande (21.05.2003 to 07.08.2006), Dr. P. L. Dhande (08.08.2006 to 30.04.2019) and Dr. S. A. Gaikwad (01.05.2019 to till date).

This Dept. has organized National conferences, Trainings, workshops, T. V. talks and Radio talks for professionals, students and farmers. The Dept. has achieved various awards and recognitions for P.G. and Ph.D. work and Taxidermy work from Government, forest Dept., National / state Zoos and I.A.V.A.

Dept. has developed Anatomical / MAFSU Museum, Willed-body Laboratory and Wildlife Taxidermy center in collaboration with Maharashtra Forest Dept.
