Preamble

Institutions of higher education have the main responsibilities of equipping students, researchers and faculty with excellent collection of books, Thesis, Journal and Back Volumes with advanced knowledge. A well-equipped and managed library is an essential prerequisite to achieve this. In particular, scientific research needs a library as well as its computer lab. Keeping this in view, the MVC Library undertakes many responsibilities and performs varied functions and it plays a vital role in the university education and research by providing invaluable resource of knowledge.

Mission

The mission of the MVC Library is to provide access to and delivery of information resources to MVC students, researcher, faculty, and staff in support of the research and instructional mission of the university. The Library develops, organizes, and preserves collections for optimal use and provides links to remote information sources. The Library provides services, including instruction for information literacy and information management, to enable its users to fulfil their academic and intellectual needs. Relying on its skilled staff, the Library encourages innovation, capitalizes on appropriate technologies, and aggressively promotes excellence.

Library Building:

Library has two different campuses i.e. Parel and Goregaon.

ONOS (One Nation One Subscription):

The MVC Library is one of the functional members of One Nation One Subscription. In response to the vision of making India Atmanirbhar and Viksitbharat@2047, the Government of India approved One Nation One Subscription scheme to provide country-wide access to international high impact scholarly research articles and journal publications to students, faculty and researchers of all Higher Education Institutions managed by the central government and state governments and Research & Development Institutions of the central government.

“Dnyanwardhini” at Library for the aspirants of competitive examination:

The Mumbai Veterinary College Library is having unique resources for the aspirants of competitive examinations like UPSC, MPSC, ARS etc. This “Dnyanwardhini” is 24X7 open reading facility for the students wherein all leading Newspapers, current affairs reading materials are available for the students. In addition, Mumbai Veterinary College Alumni Association in coordination with college administration arrange the various expertise lectures and interaction programmes for the aspirant students.
